Embracing ethnic and racial diversity and inclusion in the workplace is becoming more important as it can harvest a number of benefits. Racial diversity can strengthen organizational adaptability and increase high performance within the workplace. In turn, companies can gain competitive advantage and profit. A survey conducted by Glassdoor shows that 67 percent of job seekers said a diverse workplace is an important factor when considering jobs. Further, 57 percent of employees believe that their companies should be more diverse.


Companies are placing a greater emphasis on the value to recruit and retain diverse employees, as these workers play a critical role in the adaptability and growth of the company. Sustaining a diverse work environment leads to diverse viewpoints. We all have unique backgrounds, including different experiences, skills, lifestyles, and beliefs, which formulates our individual strategies and decisions. Therefore, we all tend to look at problems through a different lense. Having a set of diverse employees working together to solve problems and create solutions results in higher performance. Embracing diverse backgrounds allows employees to be more comfortable with being themselves, which in turn allows employees to work more comfortably and effectively.
