Why ClassPass is Expanding Beyond Fitness. And, Why FitPros Was Already There

Description of what is in the photo.

ClassPass has long been known as the go-to platform for discovering fitness studios and classes. But recently, the company announced it’s expanding its scope into other areas of well-being—physical, mental, emotional, and social health. For many, this may feel like a big leap for a company rooted in the fitness space. For us at FitPros, it feels more like a “welcome to the party” moment.

Since 2016, FitPros has operated with the belief that true well-being can’t be confined to physical fitness alone. Our model has always been built on addressing the full spectrum of health: physical, mental, emotional, and social. The reality is, humans don’t show up to work—or life—as segmented beings. We bring our whole selves to every interaction, every responsibility, and every opportunity. And when a workplace invests in employees’ well-being holistically, everyone benefits.

Why ClassPass Chose to Diversify Now

So why did ClassPass make the move? According to interviews and statements from the company, they recognized that today’s consumers demand more from wellness than just workouts. People want balance. They want mental health support, opportunities for social connection, and ways to recharge emotionally. The wellness industry itself has evolved dramatically, especially in the wake of the pandemic, which underscored the fact that resilience and well-being aren’t just about how many miles you can run or how heavy you can lift.

ClassPass leaders have said their expansion is about meeting people where they are and giving them tools for every dimension of well-being. The company has acknowledged that wellness is no longer just about fitness—it’s about helping people thrive in all aspects of their lives.

This shift also reflects a larger trend: wellness is now deeply tied to culture, productivity, and even retention in the workplace. Employers and individuals alike are searching for solutions that address burnout, stress, and disconnection.

FitPros: Ahead of the Curve Since 2016

For FitPros, this is validation of what we’ve believed and practiced since day one. We started with the understanding that employee well-being can’t just be about lunchtime yoga (though we love a good yoga session). Instead, it has to encompass mental health seminars, financial wellness workshops, nutritional cooking classes, team-building events, and more.

When people ask me why I named the company “FitPros,” they often assume it’s because we only offer fitness programming. I like to joke that I’ve been answering that question for almost a decade. My answer? We think of the word “fit” holistically. You can be “financially fit,” “spiritually fit,” or even “a great fit parent.” Fitness, to us, is about alignment and readiness across all aspects of life.

And because FitPros is exclusively B2B, we’ve been able to tailor our services to the workplace context from the start. Unlike ClassPass, which is primarily a B2C brand adapting to business needs, our entire model was built for organizations that want to support their employees with meaningful, integrated well-being solutions.

The Broader Shift in Wellness

The timing of ClassPass’s move speaks to where the industry is headed. Wellness isn’t a perk or a “nice to have” anymore; it’s a baseline expectation. Employees want their companies to recognize them as whole people. And businesses are realizing that healthier, happier employees translate to better performance, stronger engagement, and longer retention.

The shift toward holistic wellness also mirrors cultural changes. Ten years ago, saying you were working on your “emotional fitness” might have raised eyebrows. Today, it’s mainstream. Conversations about stress management, mindfulness, therapy, and social connection are as common as conversations about running shoes or gym memberships.

Where FitPros Fits In

What makes FitPros unique is that we’ve been here all along. We’ve built a network of experts and professionals who specialize across the entire well-being spectrum. We’ve partnered with companies of all sizes to create programs that don’t just check a box but actually resonate with employees.

And while ClassPass is expanding into holistic wellness may capture headlines, we see it as an opportunity to highlight what sets us apart. FitPros isn’t pivoting to include mental, emotional, and social well-being…we’ve been living it since 2016.

Closing Thoughts

It’s exciting to see major players like ClassPass validate the approach we’ve believed in since the beginning. Wellness is not just fitness, and fitness is not just physical. It’s about creating balance, resilience, and connection in every dimension of life.

At FitPros, we’ll keep doing what we’ve always done: delivering holistic, people-first well-being programs that empower employees to thrive at work and beyond.

Because being truly “fit” has never been about just one dimension. And for nearly a decade, we’ve proudly helped companies support their people in becoming fit in every sense of the word.
